Camino Portuguese VII

Finally it’s time to do the last-minute things……weed the vegetable garden, buy sacks of potatoes, onions and carrots for those staying home, pack the stationery and journals for the little girls who are going off on their own adventure with grandparents, return library books, deliver the milk bucket, and pick up a horse. Yes, a horse! Rob’s boss has kindly invited us to her big birthday celebrations tonight – it’s a murder mystery in which Rob will be the mayor and I will be a jockey and so of course I need to take a horse. I just hope we’ll still be alive tomorrow!
